Corporate Information
Get Mental Help, Inc., was formed in May of 2001 to assist Mental Health Consumers in finding high quality information and resources, and to assist in whatever possible way in their treatment and recovery. In June of 2001 Get Mental Help purchased Mental Health Matters in order to help fulfill our goals.
While the percentage of people facing a diagnosable Mental Disorder in any given year is substantial, the acceptance of these problems can be hard to come by. Essentially, Mental Health Issues are hidden illnesses. The need for an anonymous avenue for consumers and supporters to gather information very real and very large.
Since purchasing Mental Health Matters, we have worked at changing the format to make the site easier to navigate. We have also added a significant amount of content and are continuing to improve the reach of Mental Health Matters. Mental Health Matters was visited by over 50,000 unique users and served over 230,000 pages in September, 2002.
The development of getmentalhelp.com will allow us to assist our users in an entirely different way. Our goal with the new website is to provide a valuable link between mental health professionals and consumers. By offering the consumer more information about providers listed on getmentalhelp.com, consumers will be able to make a better educated decision about their treatment. By offering providers access to the audience of Mental Health Matters, we give them an opportunity to highlight their practice to the very people they serve.
